Children and their families displayed their artwork at the Bass Museum’s “Creativity in the Community” at the Miami Beach Regional Library last Saturday.
It was the culminating event in the Bass’ Arts and Literacy program. The Arts and Literacy program is a free 6 week program that offers art activities to enhance reading skills among children 2-8 years old. Drawing on the strength of parents as a child’s first teacher, the program equips families with creative activities to strengthen literacy.
Each week after storytelling and art making, each child receives a free book. There is no cost for the program. Families pre register at various sites in Miami before attending the six week session. For more information, contact the Bass at 305-673-7530.
