From kayaking, green cuisine to Earth Day festivities, there are many opportunities to connect and celebrate nature in Miami. Each year, Miami hosts Baynanza for two months to heighten environmental awareness. Miami’s Biscayne Bay is one of south Florida’s most precious resources. Biscayne Bay is the largest estuary on the east coast of Florida. It is part of the southern Everglades and Florida bay. As an important part of south Florida’s ecosystem it relies upon water that flows directly from the Everglades.
Thousands of volunteers will gather at various sites for some spring cleaning of Biscayne Bay on April 25.
